If your loved one is living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia, it’s not something you have to go through alone. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, currently, more than 400,000 Texans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, and over 1,449,000 families and friends are providing care.
At Proveer at Northgate, we specialize in helping residents with memory care. We understand how to navigate the complex challenges that come with an Alzheimer’s or dementia diagnosis and how important support and resources are for families.
Having that expertise, we’ve built an intimate and convenient environment with four buildings under one roof and spacious common areas. Our specialized Cherish Memory Care Program means providing a lifestyle with structure, purposeful engagement, and our dimensions of wellness. Residents visit with the same passionate associates each day. With 24/7 associate support and supervision, your loved one can walk through our courtyards, stop by the on-site gift shop, make crafts in the activities room, or visit our dining area for a snack.
Throughout the day, associates provide therapeutic sessions that encourage movement, socialization, and healthy habits. We also work with groups like Silver Sneakers—who help us stay fit—and Heart to Heart Hospice for compassionate care when and if it’s needed.
Our experience with memory care means we know the importance of community and connecting with others who can provide support or resources. You don’t have to face these challenges alone. If you want to talk to people who understand what you’re going through, join our monthly support group to discuss innovations in the memory care community. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month. Below are some additional resources in the Houston area, committed to providing a helping hand and guidance:
- The Alzheimer’s Association provides local, online programs for families. There are a wealth of programs and services by county. You can also call their helpline anytime day or night, for reliable information and support at (800) 272-3900.
- Visit with and connect with other caregivers who are facing the same challenges at Amazing Place. Their monthly support groups offer the chance to share insight, listen and learn from each other.
